For Matt’s birthday I got him tickets to see Awolnation at Myth Live in Minneapolis. There were two opening acts, IronTom and K.Flay.

The venue was originally supposed to be a Cabooze, which I think would’ve been a lot more fun. Cabooze is an outdoor venue and it was the perfect weather. Myth is a smaller venue. We stood on the second floor right against the railing so we had a decent view of the bands.

The opening act, IronTom, was a little… odd for my taste. The music wasn’t horrible but the performance was just, to put it nicely, not my cup of tea. The lead singer spent more time flailing around stage than singing. The second artist, K.Flay, is a new favorite of mine. I love her music. She has a great beat and poetic lyrics. I’m officially obsessed.

The actual performance by Awolnation was amazing! The light show was incredible and the performance was full of energy. There were tons of people crowd surfing which was enjoyable to watch in itself. Besides the venue being small and crowded and driving 9 hours all together, it was a spectacular concert.

Budapest Danube Dinner Cruise

11130184_10203699820728239_6621205511064481963_nOn one of our last nights on our trip, we took a dinner cruise on the Danube river. It was an hour and a half tour which seemed like nothing. You basically make a very small circle during that time. We would’ve liked it to go farther down the Danube, so that was a little disappointing. The food was good and you received two beverage tickets. They had and authentic Hungarian Folk Orchestra which added to the overall atmosphere. The food was a great variety of local cuisine and there was a vast assortment of desserts! It was a fun relaxing experience and a great way to end our trip.
